Wired for Success® is a free training for parents, caregivers and interested community members.  The first part is a one-hour introduction to infant brain development.  View the current schedule of introductory workshops.  All workshops, presentations and materials are available in both English and Spanish.

One-Hour Workshop This free, one-hour workshop is fun-

filled, with hands-on experiences that show caregivers how

critical their role can be in stimulating a child’s development.

     Four-Hour Workshop The Wired for Success® four-hour

workshop addresses developments in neuroscience and

presents practical methods for stimulating healthy early brain

development in children.  The free workshop is an exploration of

brain development based on S.T.E.P.S. to Early Brain

Development, a New Directions program concentrating

on Security, Touch, Eyes (vision), Play and Sound.

Participants learn how to encourage a child’s learning through

parent-child interactions in these areas.  View the Wired

for Success® four-hour workshop schedules currently offered in

Phoenix and Tempe (additional workshops in other cities to come

soon).  This half-day workshop includes many interactive

experiences as well as video clips that reinforce useful concepts.

The Wired for Success® program was funded and developed in partnership with Arizona Public Service.  The APS commitment to improving early education includes providing early brain development training to any APS employee as well as providing critical funding for free public community workshops.

"This (workshop) is especially good for parents without a teaching background.  It was very well organized. I think it's a good approach to give parents time to try things out."

    - Mother of two, 17 and 29 months

“This program provided me with specific information related to brain development that I can apply in daily activities.”

    - Mother of a 3 year old

“I view my time with the children differently (after this workshop).  I am more aware of what I can be doing that will help the child learn and grow.  While feeding them I am thinking of something I can be doing that will help the child learn.”

    -
Childcare Worker
