Donald Diamond and Helaine Levy, Diamond Foundation

Donald Diamond’s business interests have
included a variety of real estate investments
and development projects. For more than
four decades, Donald and his wife Joan
have played major roles in supporting
financially and through service, business,
health, education and other charitable
organizations in Tucson.
Despite her ongoing work as executive
director of the Diamond Foundation,
director of community relations for Diamond Ventures, and
dedicated mother of three, Helaine Levy still finds the time and
energy to devote to important causes throughout the area.
The Diamond family is known for its generosity to nonprofits,
including a $15 million gift for a new children’s medical center (part
of University Medical Center at the University of Arizona) that will be
a national player in children’s research and medical technology.
The Diamond Foundation also donated $1 million to support First
Focus on Kids, a United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona
program to aid early education in its quest to launch children into
life with a solid base in education. The Diamond donation will help
fund teacher training, child-care center libraries, literacy programs
and nutritional and dental assessments for kids.
The Diamond
family is a true treasure to the state of Arizona and will continue to
have an impact on improving the health and education of children.
