Bruce and Diane Halle were honored with
the Science of Early Learning Award in 2006 for their outstanding
commitment to early childhood advocacy issues.

Bruce and Diane Halle
have a long-standing dedication to Arizona communities and in 2002
they established the Bruce T. Halle Family Foundation to consolidate
their philanthropic interests. Bruce is the Founder and Chairman
of Discount Tire Company, which has twice been voted Arizona’s
Most Admired Company and is in the Forbes 500. He received the Lifetime
Achievement Award from the University of Arizona’s Eller College.
Diane is President of
the Family Foundation and oversees the generous college scholarship
program established for employees’ children. She reinvented
Discount Tire Company’s Regional Philanthropy Program, which
awards grants in 22 regions throughout the United States.
Most recently, Bruce and Diane became
Dame and Knight Commander of the Order of St. Gregory at the Vatican
in Rome. In April, they were honored by Teach for America as “Homeroom
Heroes,” adding to a joint list of awards and recognitions
too numerous to mention.
